What to Expect Next
1. COMPLETE ENERGY ASSISTANCE APPLICATION

2. SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Dropping them off at our main office lobby drop box located at 9820 Patuxent Wood Dr.
Columbia, MD 21046
Emailing them to clientassistance@cac-hc.org.
Documents can be provided to CAC using either method below.
Please be aware that additional documentation may be requested depending on your case.
3. PROCESS TIMING
IS YOUR POWER IS OFF?
You'll receive an email and a letter about required documentation within 21 days.
Your case will be completed 28 days after recieving all required documents.
Your case will be completed within 48 hours of receiving required Documents.

4. DECISION AND NOTIFICATION
Once an approval decision is made, you will receive a letter from the State within 21 days.
If you are approved, it will take up to 2 monthly billing cycles before your energy bill shows payment.
If you were denied for being over income, you may reapply 30 days after the denial date.
5. DO NOT CALL

Important Update
Maryland’s Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) has notified us that they will stop taking applications as of 3/1/2024. No water bill assistance will be available after that date, until further notice.
