HEAD START serves low-income Howard County families with children 3 to 5 years old and follows federal income guidelines to determine eligibility. Children in foster care are eligible regardless of the family income.

Children must turn 4 by September 1, 2011 or
Children must turn 3 by September 1, 2011.
Foster children are automatically qualified.
Children with disabilities and/or IEP are encouraged to apply.

We have three locations in Howard County:

Tubman Center (parents must be working full time or be in school), 8045 Harriet Tubman Lane, Columbia, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Dasher Green Center, 6680 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, 8:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Ellicott City Center, 8510 High Ridge, Ellicott City, 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
