Bita Dayhoff

Bita Dayhoff,

Indeed, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Community Action Council of Howard County, MD. For close to 50 years, the Community Action Council has served this community by helping people to help themselves. Our aim is not to provide a hand-out, but rather a hand-up. Having strong partnerships with all levels of government, community partners, and dedicated volunteers, we, on a daily basis, meet the demanding needs of our clients and are committed to superior human service delivery for all that we serve.

Though the county enjoys and maintains a reputation of being one of the most affluent counties in the nation, for some, that wealth is currently beyond their reach. Our efforts help to eradicate those disparities, as we seek to advocate for the needs of low-income residents.

This website is the portal into our world. You will find information for each of programs and initiatives that we offer, as well receive up-to-date news regarding the progress we continue to make to decrease the number of families living in poverty. We invite you to share our site with those who can benefit from our services, as well as those that you believe can support our efforts through their time and resources.

On behalf of the dedicated Board of Directors, and committed and highly-qualified professional staff, I welcome to you browse the site, learn about our programs, and more importantly, join us to fight the vicious cycle of poverty within our community.

If you would like to receive our e-newsletter, please e-mail Ashley Groves with your name and e-mail address:
